Themed Rounds
We believe in more than footy at the Wolves. Our community has strong values which we put into action during the season but especially during the Anti Violence Round and the Indigenous Round.
- Anti Violence Round: In 2024 the Wolves launched their Anti Violence Round. This initiative was an AFL Sydney first and was initiated by our male players, who wanted to support and stand by their female teammates. In 2024, our Male Captain addressed our female and male players and those of the opposing team, North Shore, who stood arm in arm on the ground and made a pledge to support and stand against domestic Violence. It was a moving moment and has lead to our introduction of a Perpetual Anti-Violence trophy. The Wolves support the ManCave and other domestic violence initiatives and have adopted the Club slogan “Stand Against Domestic Violence.”
- Mental Health Round: In 2025, the Wolves with our Northern Beaches partners Head Above Water, launched our mental health round. We at the Wolves put mental fitness of our players, of our parents, our partners and pals at the forefront of what we do as a community. Throughout the year, we hold mental health training and accreditation sessions with a focus on sparking conversations and breaking down the stigma of mental health. This Round reminds us that having conversations with our loved ones and team mates is just as important as training hard.
- Indigenous Round: Every year, the Manly Wolves hold its Indigenous Round against our Southern Rivals, St George Dragons. The day includes an Acknowledgment of Country by one of our indigenous players, and a smoking ceremony, all of which is streamed online as AFL Sydney’s game of the Round. Our indigenous jumper, which is worn proudly by our players, was designed by our indigenous players The Indigenous Round was and continues to be a very important and proud day for our local community and that of St George Dragon.
- ANZAC Day Round: Anzac Day is an important day for all Australians. When we have a home game at Weldon on this weekend, we organise special events to honour those who have served in the Armed Forces and protected our country and all that we consider Australian.
